Lake Lure
Stayed at the Creekside Campsite in Bat Cave, NC. It was okay, but I wished I had stayed at the Hickory Nut Falls Camp Site at a river site. It is in Chimney Rock at 639 Main St (828-625-4014: http://www.hickorynutfallsfamilycampground.com/). Rani saw a hybrid camper that she liked: Jay Feather Ultra Lite.
Emerald Isle
Stayed at the Holiday Travel-L-Park (http://www.htpresort.com/) from 8/19-8/22 on Emerald Isle. Great campground and would go back again. Pros: located on the beach, clean bathrooms, pool, reasonable rates.

Fairy Stone Park
Camped at Fairy Stone Park (8/4-8/7) in Virginia and had a blast (http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/state_parks/fai.shtml). Highly recommend it for families with kids. The beach is fantastic for children and has a slide, diving board and water toys for the kids to play with. Campsite was excellent! Bring your bike and hiking shoes!
